Description of the project
This project started with a solar deep-well water
pumping system. The solar array powers the pump lifting water 300’ @
3 GPM ( that’s 720 Gallons for every 4 hrs. of good sunlight ) to a
1000 Gals. storage, approximately 60’ above the yurt.
The
electric power system is housed in a 12’ X 24’ insulated shed and
eventually will power not only the yurt but also another home on the
property. Currently the power plant is a 12 KW generator (future back-up
power). Two 850 Amp Hrs / 48 Volt industrial type lead acid
batteries stores the electricity produced by the generator. Two 5500
Watt inverters powers the yurt with AC-power and acts as battery
chargers when the generator is running ( automatic start based on
battery level ) Future plans are for the energy to be produced by
renewable energy from wind and solar |
